Nancy Mathiasen, Principal
Founding Principal, Nancy Mathiasen brings over 20 years of experience in planned and annual giving management and professional consulting to the creative and highly personal approach of Mathiasen Associates. Formerly a Director of Planned Giving with the U.S. Military Academy at West Point’s Association of Graduates for five years, she manages donor and client relationships and portfolios. She was also a Director of Planned Giving for Georgetown University and Senior Director of Development at Columbia University’s Medical Center. She has a record of integrating organizational missions and personal philanthropic objectives to meet donor’s goals.
Nancy’s experience in planned giving is built on a foundation of 10 years in annual giving with the U.S Merchant Marine Academy Alumni Foundation, Sarah Lawrence College and the College of Mount Saint Vincent. For three reunion campaigns she was head annual fund class agent at her alma mater, Mount Holyoke College, helping her class break two reunion giving records, which they still hold.
Nancy received her BA in History from Mount Holyoke College and her Masters in Fundraising Management from Columbia University. Nancy lives with her family in Westchester County, NY where she is an active member of several professional organizations: the Association of Development Officers (past president), the Association of Fundraising Professionals (former speaker), and the Planned Giving Group of Greater New York.
